Girl of the Week: Cassidy Freeman

Cassidy Freeman (born April 22, 1982) is an American actress, most notable for her role as Tess Mercer in Season Eight of The CW’s action drama Smallville. She was born in Chicago, Illinois.

An American actress born and raised in Chicago, Cassidy Freeman started her career in theatre performing at The Lyric Opera of Chicago. At The Latin School of Chicago, she took part in musicals, school productions and choral groups. She then enrolled in the Cherubs program at Northwestern University in 1999.

She continued to immerse herself in the world of theatre while she was studying at Middlebury College, which she graduated in 2004. While there, Cassidy got the opportunity to live for a semester in Bolivia where she studied the country’s history and culture. She also did plays in Washington D.C. and New York City. In Los Angeles, she became part of The Sight Unseen Theatre Group.

In 2008, Cassidy was cast as Tess Mercer in the popular CW series Smallville. She also appeared in Finishing the Game: The Search for a New Bruce Lee and played a beautiful paramedic named Charlie in the medical drama pilot Austin Golden Hour.

9 to 5 Closing on Broadway

I just spoted over Broadwayworld that Broadway production of 9 To 5: The Musical is due to close on Sunday, September 6, 2009, producers announced. After 24 previews and 148 performances. 9 To 5: The Musical that currently plays at the Marriott Marquis Theatre (1535 Broadway) and starring four-time Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Allison Janney, Stephanie J. Block, Megan Hilty, and two-time Tony Award nominee Marc Kudisch will change schedule on an extensive national tour.

9 To 5: The Musical National Tour will launch the week of September 20, 2010 at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville.

9 To 5: The Musical marks the Broadway debut of seven-time Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter and musician Dolly Parton as composer and lyricist. With direction by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello and choreography by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler, 9 To 5: The Musical has a book by Patricia Resnick, based on her original story and screenplay for the smash 1980 film comedy

Thru’ Wicked London’s Twitter we account that Ashleigh Gray (amazingly talented performer) is now on as Elpahaba until Fri 7th August, while Alexia is on leave.

Also the cast welcomes back to the Wicked Family to Emily Tierney who re joined the company on Monday in the company and will be the understudy for Nessa.

Yahoo and Microsoft partnership against Google

Microsoft and Yahoo have announced a long-anticipated partnership to challenge Google’s dominance in online search. Microsoft will now power Yahoo! search while Yahoo! will become the exclusive worldwide relationship sales force for both companies’ premium search advertisers, announced recently. “This agreement comes with boatloads of value for Yahoo!, our users, and the industry, and I believe it establishes the foundation for a new era of Internet innovation and development,” said Yahoo! Chief Executive Officer Carol Bartz.
