Tony Award® winning musical RAGTIME will play its final performance on Broadway on Sunday, January 3, 2010.
The critically acclaimed new production of Terrence McNally, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty will play for the last time at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52 Street) following 28 preview and 57 regular performances.
Producer Kevin McCollum said: “While we’re saddened and disappointed to announce that RAGTIME must close, bringing this beautiful and powerful production to Broadway has been a joyous experience. We couldn’t have asked for a more talented and dedicated company and creative team or a more passionate team of producers.”
The production of SHREK THE MUSICAL®, will play its final performance on Broadway at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) on Sunday, January 3rd, 2010 at 3:00 p.m..
After 441 performances and 37 previews, SHREK THE MUSICAL® will say goodbye to Broadway and launch a national tour at Chicago’s Cadillac Palace Theatre for a limited engagement, July 13 – September 5, 2010.
Shrek the Musical has been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.
SHREK THE MUSICAL® stars Tony Award® nominee Brian d’Arcy James as Shrek, Tony Award® winner Sutton Foster as Princess Fiona, Tony Award® nominee Christopher Sieber as Lord Farquaad, Tony Award® nominee Daniel Breaker as Donkey and Robb Sappas Pinocchio.
The results from the “Poll of the Month” just came in.

With over 4o% of the votes currently Glinda in the Australian Production of Wicked, gets the award of “Favourite Glinda”.
Second place was for Kristin Chenoweth former Glinda – Original Cast in Broadway with 17% of the votes. Surprisingly third place went to Annaleigh Ashford with 10 per cent. Then, Kendra Kassembaum with 8%, Alli Mauzey with 6% and Dianne Pilkington & Megan Hilty tied with 4%.
After, sharing a 3%, Erin Mackey and Katie Rose Clarke. Last but certainly not least, Helen Dallimore , Laura Woyasz and Natalie Daradich.

Josefina Scaglione was born 1987 in Argentina. She is a musical theatre actress, best known for her performance as Maria in the 2009 Broadway revival of West Side Story, for which she received a Tony nomination for Best Leading Actress in a Musical.
Scaglione was raised in Rosario, and became interested in performing as a child. While in high school, she received a scholarship to attend a summer arts program at Point Park Universityin Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Upon graduating from high school, Scaglione moved to Buenos Aires and began working as a musical theatre actress. In Buenos Aires, she performed in Cinderella, and as Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray.
In 2008, director Arthur Laurents, unable to find an actress in the United States appropriate for the part of Maria in a Broadway revival of West Side Story, discovered Scaglione after friends in Buenos Aires directed him to a YouTube clip of her performing Astor Piazzolla’s composition Libertango.Laurents flew Scaglione to New York City to audition, where she immediately received the role, despite the fact that she was unknown in the United States. After performing as Maria at the National Theatre in Washington, DC, Scaglione made her Broadway debut in West Side Story at the Palace Theatre on March 19, 2009. As Maria, Scaglione won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical and a Theatre World Award, and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical.
