Wicked Day 2010 West End arrives on October 31st

Wicked, the West End phenomenon has recently announced it will be holding it’s 5th annual “Wicked Day” on the 31st October at London’s St Pancras International. The halloween themed Wicked party will include workshops, facepainting and even some live performances from the show’s cast!

The organisers also plan to educate on how to live greener and how to protect the environment and will furthermore donate any and all proceeds to a charity programme that plants trees in forests near St Albans.

With WICKED’s themes of taking responsibility for your own actions, there could not be a more fitting legacy for the show”

Event will take place at the train station between 12pm and 4pm on Halloween.


Wicked the Musical on Broadway Welcomes Etai Benshlomo and Tom Flynn

As anticipated by Broadway is Wicked the Broadway production of Wicked the Musical is welcoming to new cast members. Beginning performances on Tuesday, November 2, Etai Benshlomo will take on the role of Boq and Tom Flynn will assume the role of Dr. Dillamond.

They join a cast which includes Mandy Gonzalez as Elphaba, Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda, Kathy Fitzgerald as Madame Morrible, P.J. Benjamin as The Wizard, Andy Karl as Fiyero, and Jenny Fellner as Nessarose. Alex Brightman and Timothy Britten Parker will play their final performances as Boq and Dr. Dillamond, respectively, on Sunday, October 31 at 3:00pm.

Etai Benshlomo is making his Broadway debut in Wicked. His previous credits include: Wicked (San Francisco, first national tour), the MUNY (High School Musical, Annie, Gypsy, Les Misérables, etc.) and Kansas City Starlight (Fiddler on the Roof). Etai has appeared in the workshops of Little Miss Sunshine by William Finn and James Lapine (Sundance Institute) and On a Glorious Day (Snapple Theatre). He holds a BFA from the University of Michigan.

Tom Flynn’s Broadway credits include Juan Darien (Julie Taymor, dir.), How to Succeed…, Tommy (Des McAnuff, dir.). Touring credits include: Terrence McNally’s The Lisbon Traviata (starring Nathan Lane), Les Misérables (John Caird/Trevor Nunn dirs.), Evita, Chess, Wicked. Regionally he has had leading roles at Mark Taper Forum, Huntington Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Center Stage, O’Neill Center, Studio Arena, SCR.

Wicked at the Liberty Science Center this Sunday

Fellow Ozzians if you happen to be in the tri-state area, go to the Liberty Science Center this Sunday, October 24th at 11am to learn about the science behind the special effects of WICKED.

Meet some of the behind-the-scenes magicians from Wicked as they show the science behind many of the show’s special effects at the Liberty Science Center (222 Jersey City Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ). The one-hour presentation and Q&A session will begin at 11am on Sunday, October 24.
