The Australian production of Wicked has opened on Friday their National Tour in Adelaide.
Wicked is playing at the Festival Theatre at least until May 26.
According to AdelaideNow, at yesterday’s media preview, producer John Frost found himself being quizzed by Bert Newton about just how much money he was making from the show.
“This show has broken the house records for Adelaide,” said Frost.
“Right now we are holding $6 million in cash, in advance bookings. So if anyone tells you Adelaide audiences won’t put their hands in their pockets, they are wrong.”
The production stars actress Lucy Durack as the Good Witch of the North, Glinda, Jemma Rix who plays the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba and David Harris as Fiyero.
