Louise Dearman will rejoin WICKED in the West End…this time as Elphaba


Louise Dearman will become the first-ever performer to portray both leading characters, Glinda and Elphaba, when on Monday 29 October, 2012 she greenifies herself for the West-End version of smashing-hit musical WICKED.

Dearman played Glinda from March 2010 to December 2011, and will return to star as Elphaba to replace Rachel Tucker.

Louise Dearman commented: “As an actress, you strive to challenge yourself to play as many diverse roles as possible throughout your career, and right now I feel like the luckiest girl in the history of musical theatre. I still can’t quite believe that in two months’ time I’ll be back in Wicked, but this time I won’t come and go by Bubble, I’ll be on a broomstick!”

UK Executive Producer Michael McCabe said: “From her wonderful performance as Glinda, audiences already know that Louise possesses a stunning voice and remarkable acting abilities, so we are genuinely excited to now welcome her back to Wicked as Elphaba. We have all been awestruck by the way Louise has channelled her incredible talents to inhabit this iconic role, and I’ve no doubt that audiences will be equally thrilled”.

The multi award-winning Wicked has already been seen by over 4.5 million people since its West End premiere in 2006 at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. It is now one of the Top 20 longest-running musicals in West End history.

Patti Murin, Cliffton Hall and Kim Zimmer joining the First National Tour of WICKED


Kim Zimmer as Madame Morrible and Cliffton Hallas as Fiyero on join the First National Tour of WICKED on Tuesday, August 14 while Patti Murinas as the new Glinda on Tuesday, August 21 in Salt Lake City, UT.

Murin was last seen in NYC playing the title role in the Broadway musical Lysistrata Jones. Other favorite credits: Xanadu on Broadway (Euterpe/Kira u/s), the title roles inJane Austen’s Emma (Old Globe Theatre) and The Little Mermaid (The MUNY) and Roxie in Chicago (The MUNY). Yvonne Coldeweijer new Glinda on Dutch production of WICKED


Yvonne Coldeweijer will make her debut appearance on stage in the role of Glinda, on the Dutch production of WICKED. Ms. Coldewiejer -AKA as “Keet” – will replace Chantal Janzen in the role starting August 31.

She will star opposite Willemijn Verkaik who recently played her 1000th show as the greenified Elphaba.

Christine Dwyer & Billy Harrigan Tighe to join the Second National Tour of WICKED


A new Elphaba and Fiyero will set foot on stage of the Second National Tour of WICKED, when Christine Dwyer and Billy Harrigan Tighe joins the company on May 2.  Christine will be replacing Anne Brummel as the ever-green girl from Oz, while Harrigan will be taking David Nathan Perlow’s place as Fiyero.

Dwyer returns to WICKED after touring as the understudy and standby for Elphaba on this tour for two years. Tighe also returns to WICKED after previously understudying Fiyero on this tour. He comes directly from the First National Tour of La Cage Aux Folles as Jean-Michel and is thrilled to be back in Oz.

Dwyer and Tighe join a cast that includes Tiffany Haas as Glinda, Marilyn Caskey as Madame Morrible and Paul Kreppel as The Wizard.

Mamie Parris Joins the First National Tour of Wicked


The company of the first North American tour of Wicked welcomes Mamie Parris as Elphaba already beginning performances in Atlanta, GA this week.  Ms. Parris replaces Dee Roscioli in the role.

Parris joins Wicked directly from the First National Tour of 9 To 5 The Musical as Judy Bernly (Jane Fonda in the iconic film). Broadway: Ragtime (recent revival), The Drowsy Chaperone, Roundabout’s 110 In the Shade. Other credits include: First National Tour of Legally Blonde the Musical, Drama Desk-winning Off-Broadway musical See Rock City… And Other Destinations (The Transport Group), Chicago at the Macau International Music Festival in China, two holiday tours with Kenny Rogers and numerous regional productions.

The new casting for Wicked London has been announced.

From Monday 12th December 2011 the cast shall be;

Elphaba: Rachel Tucker
Glinda: Gina Beck
Fiyero: Matt Willis
The Wizard: Desmond Barrit
Madame Morrible: Julie Legrand
Boq: Adam Pettigrew
Nessarose: Lillie Flynn
Dr Dillamond: Christopher Howell

Therefore, Louise Dearman (Glinda) Mark Evans (Fiyero) Zoe Rainey (Nessarose) Ben Stott (Boq) Clive Carter (The Wizard) and Julian Forsyth (Doctor Dillamond) will all play their final performances on Saturday December 10th. Meet the Newbies…

Our new Glinda, Gina Beck, is probably best known for playing Christine in Phantom of the Opera, although she made her West End debut as Cosette in Les Misérables at the Queens Theatre. She is currently appearing in The Belle’s Strategem at Southwark Playhouse until 1st October. She has also appeared in TV shows such as Doctors and Sherlock Holmes.

Matt Willis will probably be best known to younger readers for appearing in “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” but older readers will know him for being in the band Busted who had great pop songs like “Crashed the wedding”, “Year 3000” and “Thats what I go to school for” (You Tube them and give yourself a treat!) Matt attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School and has appeared in several West End Shows.

Wicked London fans will recognise the name of our “new” wizard, Desmond Barritt, as he has played the role before, leaving in May 2009 and
returning briefly later when Sam Kelly was ill.

Adam Pettigrew (Boq) attended the Brit School and has played a range of roles ranging from Oh, What a Lovely War, Slice Of Saturday Night, Peter Pan to the Avenue Q tour. He is 5 foot 6″ tall.

Lillie Flynn (Nessarose) has appeared in Love Story and War of the Worlds. She is also an encomplished voice over artist appearing in the hit movies ‘Alice In Wonderland’,  ‘Mamma Mia’ and ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’. She is from an acting family and is a part of her brothers band ‘Johnny Flynn and The Sussex Wit’ they have released 2 albums and have toured the UK and Internationally.

Christopher Howell (Doctor Dillamond) is currently appearing in Betty Blue Eyes at the Novello Theatre. The show closes on 24th September.

The company has yet to announce which of the ensemble shall be staying and who shall be leaving. Watch this space…
