Lucy Durack Favourite “Glinda”

The results from the “Poll of the Month” just came in.

And the winner is: LUCY DURACK.

With over 4o% of the votes currently Glinda in the Australian Production of Wicked, gets the award of “Favourite Glinda”.

Second place was for Kristin Chenoweth former Glinda – Original Cast in Broadway with 17% of the votes. Surprisingly third place went to Annaleigh Ashford with 10 per cent.  Then, Kendra Kassembaum with 8%, Alli Mauzey with 6% and Dianne Pilkington & Megan Hilty tied with 4%.

After, sharing a 3%, Erin Mackey and Katie Rose Clarke. Last but certainly not least, Helen Dallimore , Laura Woyasz and Natalie Daradich.

Jenny Fellner and Katie Rose Clarke joins Wicked in Broadway

Jenny Fellner joins Katie Rose Clarke as the new recently acquisitions for Wicked in Broadway.

Katie Rose Clarke will play Glinda and Jenny Fellner will portray Nessarose in the Broadway production of Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre, beginning on January 12.

They replace Erin Mackey and Michelle Federer, respectively, who will play their final performance on January 10.

Katie Rose Clarke Returns to Wicked

Former Glinda is the 1st National Tour of Wicked, Katie Rose Clarke, is returning to her role to replace Erin Mackey in Broadway.

According to sources, Katie Rose Clarke is to return to WICKED making her Broadway debut in January 18th, 2010.

Katie had her first performance on November 6, 2007 replacing Christina DeCicco in the National Touring. She starred alongside Carmen Cusack and Donna Vivino as Elphaba. She left the tour on August 16, 2009 and was replaced by Chandra Lee Schwartz.

Wicked Returns to Chicago

According to the answers of Mr. Stephen Schwartz in a recent Q&A , Wicked will return to Chicago soon. It is said that will only be for a nine week run and starting date and theatre is yet to be confirmed. Also leading witches are not known by now as former Chicago Elphaba and Glinda – Dee Roscioli and Erin Mackey,  are now performing official roles in Broadway.

Girl of the Week: Teal Wicks

Teal Wicks was born in Sacramento, California. Teal is an American singer and stage actress best known for playing Elphaba in Wicked.

Teal attended UC Irvine and graduated with a degree in Drama and honors in Musical Theatre. She was also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.

She starred as Catherine in the National Tour of Pippin, a role that she later reprised at the Goodspeed Opera House. She also starred in New York City Center Encores production of Stairway to Paradise which was directed by Jerry Zaks.

She also starred in the New York Premiere of Fahrenheit 451, and the world premiere of Turandot: The Rumble for the Ring at the Bay Street Theatre, New York.

On January 1, 2008 Teal was cast as the standby for Elphaba in the Los Angeles production of the musical Wicked. She served as standby to Caissie Levy until May 13, 2008, when she was promoted to principal Elphaba because of Caissie Levy’s departure, due to health problems. Marcie Dodd took over as standby.

As principal she starred alongside Megan Hilty, Erin Mackey and Emily Rozek as Glinda. She departed the show on October 29, 2008, and was replaced by Eden Espinosa, who returned to close the production which played its final performance January 11, 2009.

Teal is currently originating the role of Elphaba in the San Francisco production of Wicked, which began previews January 27, 2009 and opened February 6. She stars alongside Kendra Kassebaum as Glinda.

Through out her run in Wicked she has gone on with many different Glindas, including: Megan Hilty, Emily Rozek, Laura Woyasz, Erin Mackey, Kendra Kassebaum, Natalie Daradich, and Alexa Green.

Erin Mackey to replace Alli Mauzey as Glinda in “WICKED” Broadway

Erin Mackey, former Glinda in Chicago and LA production of  Wicked, is due to return to stage  to replace Alli Mauzey as Glinda in Broadway.

Erin will co-star with Dee Roscioli -with whome she already performed in Wicked Chicago- having her debut on August 11th at the Gershwin Theatre.

In addition to appearing in the Chicago, Los Angeles, and touring productions of Wicked, Mackey’s film and television credits include ‘The Parent Trap,’ ‘Do Over,’ and ‘Family Affair.’

Who might be taking over Glinda in Wicked Broadway?

All good must come to an end. So Alli Mauzey has recently stated that she will be leving Wicked on Broadway as Glinda the Good the Good.

Most people will instantly thinmk of Laura Woyasz to take over the part as she is the Stand-by for the role. However, there are also a couple of names getting to the top of the list. Who?

Some think Erin Mackey, as she workd with Dee in Chicago. Some, say Anneliese Van der Pol, as she stated, according to a source, that she received her fourth call to take over Glinda.

Who it will be, remeains a mistery, but we can still enjoy the delightfull Alli Mauzey at the Gerswion Theatre.
